Couple photoshoot and a picnic at Praia da Adraga
A July session at Praia da Adraga on the Sintra coast: bright afternoon light by the sea stacks first, then a picnic on the sand as the sun went down over the Atlantic.
The route
Under the cliffs
A slow walk along the beach towards the sea stacks, hand in hand.
On the open sand
Lifts, spins and a dance, with the dress caught by the wind off the ocean.
Among the rocks
Closer portraits on and between the dark rocks at the end of the beach.
Sunset picnic
A blanket on the sand, and the sun going down straight into the Atlantic.
Light and timing
Adraga faces west, so the sun sets over the water. On 20 July it sets at about 21:05, and the last half hour before that is the warm light you see in the picnic frames. The afternoon part had clear, bright light bouncing off the sea.
Adraga is 40 to 50 minutes from Lisbon. Our Adraga session takes 2.5 to 3 hours with the drive, and transport there and back is included.
