Elopement in Portugal
just the two of you

Lisbon at sunrise, the cliffs of the Sintra coast or an empty beach at sunset: we photograph elopements and tiny weddings in and around Lisbon, from the vows to the walk after.

Why elope in Portugal

The light and the ocean

The Atlantic coast faces west, so the sun goes down over the water. Beaches and cliffs are within an hour of Lisbon.

An easy city

Viewpoints, tiled lanes, trams and river squares are all within walking distance, so one morning can cover several places.

Small and personal

No guest list to manage. Just the two of you, maybe two witnesses, and a day planned around what you want to feel.

Moments from our sessions by the ocean and in the city

Where to elope near Lisbon

Praia da Adraga

A small beach closed in by cliffs on the Sintra coast, 40 to 50 minutes from Lisbon. Dramatic, windy, and beautiful at sunset.

Costa da Caparica

Wide sand and grassy dunes across the river from Lisbon, with the sun setting over the water.

An Alfama viewpoint at sunrise

The rooftops of the old town and the river below, almost empty in the first hour of the day.

Praça do Comércio and Cais das Colunas

The grand river square, the Rua Augusta Arch and stone steps going down into the Tagus.

Elopement questions

Yes. Foreign couples can marry at a Portuguese civil registry (Registo Civil). You need your passports, your birth certificates and a certificate of capacity to marry from your own country, issued less than six months before. Documents that are not in English, French or Spanish need a certified Portuguese translation.

The process starts at least a month before the wedding, an interpreter is provided if you don’t speak Portuguese, and witnesses are optional. The registry fee is €120 (IRN, checked October 2026).

A symbolic ceremony needs no paperwork at all: you choose the place, the words and who leads them. Many couples sign the legal papers at home and keep the day in Portugal for the vows and the photos.

Every elopement is quoted individually, depending on the hours and the places. Tell us your plan and we will send you the packages.

Sunrise in the city, when the viewpoints are empty, or sunset on the coast, when the sun goes down over the ocean.

We plan a backup day or a sheltered location together in advance.

Lisbon, Sintra, Cascais and the coast. Further away in Portugal on request.
